Welcome to Page Pains, where we share the journey of two young writers and their struggle to find a place in the world ruled by literary titans. I am Hermes, one of said fledgling writers, and I am happy to be here to share my story, however, the quest we are embarking on won't be for the faint of heart. We will fight the monsters of self-doubt, the dark pits of despair and procrastination, the mounting pressure of the world around us, and countless unwritten toils along the path. If you are a brave soul interested in this quest for a voice, I encourage you to stick around; this will be a ride like no other.

This is my prologue, where you can get a taste of what is in store with Page Pains before choosing to follow along with the seemingly impossible mission (Pun very much intended) of these two young souls pining for their voice in the cacophony of noise.

What should I expect from Page Pains?

Page Pains will be a blog that explores all things written word, the main focuses being on novels and literary writing. Speaking for my content, posts will stretch across a wide range of topics and styles, however, there are a few that will serve as the norm.

Book Reviews: These will serve for me to document my journey through reading as many books as possible while still enjoying the trip. It's not always about the outcome, but about the books we read along the way.

My reviews will likely start within the scope of my typical genres, those being fantasy and sci-fi, but Page Pains will also serve to expand my literary horizons through recommendations from my lovely companions in this quest (You. Readers)

Writing Process: As well as being an addicted reader I also have been swallowed by the captivating vortex that is the world of writing. You will see the process that I go about when attempting to delve into the portals deep within my mind, and seeking to discover as many as possible.

Is there more content outside of the blog?

Yes, there will be additional content available to read and consume on the Page Pains website. The additional content will begin with one main source, however, many other options for additional content may be added to the website in the future.

Monthly short story drops will be the starting focus of additional content. These will serve to grant a taste of each writer's work and let us receive feedback on these shorter mediums of writing. This will be another piece where recommendations and ideas from you all will be greatly appreciated to expand our skills with different genres and story types.

Thank you so much for reading my prologue to Page Pains! Blog posts should be expected weekly with Hermes short stories set to drop every month under the stories tab of the website.
